ABOUT THE ROLE
The successful candidate can be based out of either our Calgary or Red Deer office.
This role requires regular hands‑on work in both Calgary and Red Deer, supporting clients, projects, and in‑person collaboration across Central Alberta.
This is a senior, hands‑on technical role for someone who enjoys balancing design‑level thinking with practical execution. You’ll be a go‑to resource for complex technical work, trusted client guidance, and raising the bar on how IT is delivered.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Your primary mandate: help humans and businesses succeed through well‑designed, well‑supported technology.
- Take ownership of complex technical issues—diagnosing root causes, not just symptoms
- Design, deploy, and support business‑critical systems across on‑prem, cloud, and hybrid environments
- Serve as a technical escalation point for challenging problems and high‑impact incidents
- Partner with Technical Account Managers to proactively identify risks, improvements, and roadmap opportunities
- Lead and contribute to IT projects, from design through execution and post‑implementation review
- Provide clear, confident recommendations grounded in best practices and real‑world experience
- Document environments, decisions, and changes with a long‑term operational mindset
While this is not a formal people‑management role, your experience will influence others—through collaboration, example, and technical leadership.
TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR
You bring strong, real‑world experience across modern Microsoft environments, including:
- Microsoft Windows–based desktops and servers
- Microsoft Exchange (on‑premises) and Microsoft 365
- Remote Desktop Services (RDS)
- Advanced firewall, networking, and security solutions
- Cloud services and hybrid architectures
- Mobile device management and endpoint security
You’re especially comfortable with:
- Windows Server upgrades, lifecycle planning, and modernization
- P2V and V2V migrations and infrastructure transformations
- Designing and executing server and workload migrations with minimal business disruption
- SharePoint migrations, including on‑premises to SharePoint Online
- Building solutions that scale, are supportable, and won’t create tomorrow’s problems
You can work independently on technically complex initiatives, but you value collaboration, peer review, and shared standards over lone‑wolf heroics.
